Our Reception 

Reception is a very special year for both you and your child. It is the final year of the Early Years Foundation Stage and your child's first experience of a more formal academic setting and routines, and is the bridge between Early Years and Year 1/Key Stage One. Reception prepares younger pupils for what's to come throughout their school years, including instilling a love of learning within the children and key concepts and skills such as reading, writing, and number. By the end of their foundation years, we strive for the children to be healthy, sociable, curious, happy, active and able to make the most of the opportunities available to them.

We are very proud of our reception environment. At Springwell Park, we are two form entry and have worked hard to create stimulating, engaging and inviting classroom environments. Our reception setting also boasts a superb outdoor space, of which the children are able to explore in all weathers. 

 Wrap Around Care 

Children in Reception can attend our school's breakfast club from 7:45am in the morning. It runs five days a week and finishes at 8.30am. We are very proud to say that our breakfast club is free of charge for our reception children. You can express your interest for a place by filling in the application form when they are circulated our via Teacher to Parents.

In addition to this and for a charge, reception children can also attend after school club, which is managed by Fun4Kids. This is also five days a week and runs from 3pm until 6pm.
