Music Week

Last week we enjoyed Music Week. We had an amazing time and sampled many different types of music. On Monday we listened to 'Katumba drums' - an incredible, and very loud, Brazilian drum band. Year 3 had taken part in a drum workshop and also treated us to performances based on what they had learnt in only an hour! On Tuesday we had the pleasure of 'Pop Presentation' who took us on a journey of pop from the 1950s through to modern day. They taught us about popular bands of that decade, the technology people used to listen to music and the fashion related to the different types of music. On Wednesday we performed for the school and showed off our fantastic drumming skills. We have been drumming for two years and are very skilled. We will be performing for our parents next Tuesday afternoon (14th June). Thursday brought a string quartet who introduced us to classical music. They even played some well known film scores (Star Wars, Frozen and Despicable Me!). Finally, on Friday, we were once again treated to an in-house performance from our year 3 recorder players. They wowed us with several tunes and even some singing! We had left the best till last however, with the very organised Staff Band!!!  They played some well known Disney songs and the whole school joined them in a sing-a-long.

We have had an amazing week - thank you so much to Mrs Evans who organised it all smiley
