On Monday 22nd May 2017, the whole school attended an assembly in the hall, looking at the global community as part of P.S.H.E., based on the role of Unicef.
We learned about the meanings of nutrition, malnutrition and that sadly, every one in three children in Liberia suffer with malnutrition. We watched a video about Wesley and Jacob(two brothers suffering with malnutrition) and how the charity Unicef has helped them.We looked at how different amounts of money can help in different ways and any change, no matter how little, can make a difference. Each class has their own collection jar and this week we will be donating any small change that we have.
After break, in class, we read and discussed the book 'For Every Child' and the leaflet 'Children's Rights and Responsibilities' both produced by Unicef.
