21.4.16 Queen Elizabeth II turns 90 years old!

smiley    Today we had a celebration for Queens Elizabeth II's 90th Birthday!  smiley

 

We watched different videos about her life so far and were amazed at how many things she does. We really liked the way she has raised money for over 510 charities. 

 

As a school we raised money and voted that the money should go to Cancer Research - we hope it will help different families! We had a picnic lunch outside  - it was lovely. 

 

Did you know...?

 

  • She is one of the most famous women in the world - she has visited many countries and met many world leaders. She has probably travelled more miles than any king or queen in history.
  • The Queen's favourite dogs are corgies - she also likes Labradors and Spaniels.
  • Guns are fired in salutes to mark the Queen's  official birthday. 
  • The Queen's head appears on every British coin.
