Mystery and Horror Stories in Literacy

There have been some strange goings on in Year 5 this week. We have been looking at a range of fictional genres such as crime, mystery, romance and fables. However, a clear winner in the genre popularity contest has been horror stories - I wonder why? On Friday, after reading a very, very short story (only 1 sentence long!), Miss Hughes challenged the class to write their own horror story in as little sentences as possible.
