From Outer Space

We enjoyed a wonderful week off for half term and we are back and ready to learn!

We started the week very excited as we found an alien egg on the playground! We could not believe it! We have since found out that the egg is lost and we are looking after it until it's alien family comes back for it.  We have been told by it's mum that we must keep it in the dark.  This has started lots of interesting discussions within science and we have been on a light walk around school to identify lots of different light sources.  Next week we will be starting an investigation into how best to keep our egg in the dark.

In Literacy we have been reading the story of Beegu and we have found it interesting to talk about how we would feel if we crash landed on an unusual planet.  Next week we will be rewriting the story of Beegu in our own words.

We have learned lots about Space already, especially from the exciting dome experience where we learned about all of the different planets.  We now know that they come in lots of different sizes and some are very cold while others are extremely hot.

We look forward to learning more over the half term :)
