Tatton Park Farm - Evacuee Experience

On Friday 14th October year 3 went to Tatton Dale Farm at Tatton Park.  Children from Liverpool and Manchester were evacuated to the farm during World War II and the cottage is just like it used to be!

We were met by farmer Tom who took us to Aunt Mary's cottage. We had a fantastic day experiencing life as a WWII evacuee on the farm.  We cooked toast on an old range, played 1930s games, fed the goats and hens and learnt all about the pigs on the farm.  We even experienced an air raid and sang war time songs in the shelter!

Didn't we look great in our costumes too?
