Micro-organisms are living organisms that are often too small to be seen. We have been learning that micro-organisms may be beneficial or harmful to us. There are 5 types of living micro-organisms which are bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and algae.
We have been experimenting using good micro-organisms. By adding either cold or warm water and sugar or no sugar we looked at the different effects these had on Yeast. We found that like other living things, yeast needs a few things to help it grow.
The results: Yeast needs sugar in order to grow, and also needs to be in a warm place.
