Science Week in Year 5

During science week year five have been working around the theme, “every child has the right to water and shelter.” Throughout the week we have looked at the importance of water to people on the planet as well as studying the water cycle. We know how important water is for plants and we have planted a mixed hedge of holly, dogrose, dogwood and hazel in the garden area.  On Wednesday we had a visit from the Maestro company who taught us all about acids and alkalis.  We have also designed and constructed shelters which demonstrate the strenghth of triangular structures. Have a look at the photos of the work we have done throughout the week.
