Chester Zoo

We visited Chester Zoo to enhance our scientific knowledge on our topic 'evolution and inheritance'. Whilst at the zoo, we learnt about Charles Darwin and his discoveries on the Galapagos Islands. We also looked at the process of evolution in frogs and how their markings have evolved to create camouflage in the rainforest.

Did you know... a giraffe's neck never used to be so long? Their closest living relative is the okapi. Giraffes needed to reach the highest leaves on the tree to access more food, so over time their necks evolved.
