This term we are studying the book 'The Spider and the Fly' written by Mary Howitt.
We have looked at the style of writing, discussed the tricky meanings of the words and discovered the use of modal verbs in our writing, to indicate degrees of possibility.
After our first read of the book, we worked in groups of three and volunteered ourselves as characters from the book- 'The Spider', 'The Fly' and the 'Narrator'. We then rehearsed and performed these roles to the rest of the class, developing our speaking and listening skills!
