Birthdays
When a child has a birthday in Nursery, we all celebrate the occasion. The Birthday Girl/Boy blows out the candles on the cake, we sing 'Happy Birthday, a photo is taken with the Birthday Hat on, and the child is the "Star of the Day". All the children who are 4 have a white name card. Prior to this, the cards are colour-coded according to birth month. (Sept/Oct/Nov = Blue, Dec/Jan/Feb = Red, March/April/May = Green, June/July/Aug = Yellow)
The name cards are used for the children to self-register each morning, as well as at Snack-Time and when learning to write their own names.
