A Viking came to school.
We were visited by a Viking expert today! He told us lots of exciting new information about the Vikings & tested our knowledge too.
We learnt:
· what Britain has learnt from other
countries and civilizations through times gone by;
· that Britain was invaded by several
different groups over the time of the Anglo-Saxons, Vikings and Normans;
· that invaders in the past fought fiercely, using hand to hand combat;
· that wars happened a very long time ago and were often caused by invasions,
conquering or religious differences;
· wars through history have started for
specific reasons and sometimes lasted for a very long time!
